Our Philosophy
Families and Community
At Shapes Early Learning, we believe effective communication is essential to building respectful and responsive relationships with families and the wider community. Through collaboration and shared decision-making, we support each learner’s developmental journey and work together to achieve the best possible outcomes across our services. Greeting families with warmth and respect is essential to fostering genuine partnerships, where trust and mutual understanding are nurtured. We deeply value and celebrate the diverse cultures and identities within our community. By acknowledging and embracing this diversity, we create inclusive environments that reflect and honour all experiences and ways of Being. Our commitment to cultural responsiveness is embedded in daily practice, ensuring that everyone feels a strong sense of belonging. Shapes is dedicated to building meaningful connections with local organisations and community groups, enabling us to respond more effectively to the unique needs of every family. These partnerships enrich our learning environments and promote a deeper sense of community engagement and inclusion for all.

Children
Across our organisation, children's voices are recognised and are an essential aspect of promoting children's sense of belonging and well being. Giving our little learners a safe space to express their own thoughts and feelings freely and listening actively with care, empathy and respect supports all children to acknowledge their rights to be heard. We believe that it is essential to seek consent from children throughout all aspects of their day and participation in service programs and activities. Encouraging them to express their thoughts, ideas and feelings openly while giving them information so that they can make informed decisions whilst in our care. When children are comfortable expressing their needs and opinions, it shows that they feel safe and feel a sense of belonging in our services.
Educators
At Shapes Early Learning services, we are committed to contributing to the success of all educator’s career paths by providing opportunities for our staff to participate in professional development opportunities and up-skilling opportunities. Our Service Managers work closely with their teams to support ongoing professional development and collaboration. Our educators live and breathe our core values: tenacity, authenticity, care, self reflection and fun. These core values are held in high regard and ensure our services embody a culture of trust, empathy, accountability and respect. This allows us to be open to new ideas, challenge our way of thinking and strive for ongoing growth and improvement.

Learning Environments
Shapes Early Learning environments will invite opportunities for children to explore new concepts, ideas and ignite children’s sense of wonder. It is important to us to provide a safe space for children full of natural elements and opportunities for exploration, learning and fun. Our services are warm, inviting and reflect the diverse needs of staff, children and families. Thoughtful attention is given to children's voices and interests when designing learning environments. These spaces are intentionally created to reflect each child through visual learning documentation and meaningful displays. By having access to this documentation within their environment, children are supported in revisiting their learning experiences and celebrating their achievements alongside their families.
Curriculum
At Shapes Early Learning Services, we believe in the importance of the implementation of purposeful learning programs that are informed by the Early Years Learning Framework, Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines and early childhood philosophers and pedagogy. We believe that by incorporating a variety of pedagogical practices, we are able to cater our programs to suit each individual learner. We believe that this approach to our curriculum ensures that each child’s learning and development is maximised. Collaborating with families and empowering children to pursue their own curiosities with wonder and enthusiasm fosters an appreciation for the natural world and promotes the development of their self identities.
